IBA, Zambales – A total of 42 teachers from the town of Botolan attended a one-day emergency first aid training from the Philippine Red Cross on Dec. 3 at the training center of the PRC building here.
The training aimed to arm the teachers with basic knowledge to keep their students safe during school activities. It included techniques to deal with choking, bleeding, fractures and dislocations, convulsions and seizures, and basic bandaging which is prevalent in the school premises during outdoor activities.
Most of the teachers who participated are health coordinators in their respective schools.
The activity was conducted in coordination with the municipal disaster risk reduction and management office Botolan and the Division Office of the Department of Education in Zambales.
