ANGELES CITY – The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) has launched its first satellite office at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) office here on Friday, allowing the opportunity for more foreign and local retirees of investing and living in Central Luzon.

DTI Regional Director Blesila Lantayona said “they are fortunate to host” the PRA at their office located at the ABC Building, Nepo Mart Complex.

Lantayona, in her speech, disclosed that there are some 2,000 registered foreign retirees in CL.

She urged retirees to visit the PRA office for their inquiries about the government’s plans and projects for them.

“We are hoping that more retirees will stay in Central Luzon,” Lantayona said.
No less than PRA Chairman Retired Gen. Edgar Aglipay and Retired General Reynaldo Lingat, officer-in-charge PRA general manager, graced the occasion at the DTI conference room.

Aglipay, in his speech, said they are offering the country “as the second home of retirees.” He added that the global economic crisis will allow the entry of more retirees in the Philippines.

He stressed that their retirement benefits would be “maximized here.”

“Imagine you are a retired Canadian and you only get as much. You can not live comfortably in other countries except in ours. The ‘caring attitude’ of the Filipinos is one of the best advantages we have,” he said.

Aglipay added that they had established PRA offices in different regions to “get closer to the retirees.”

The former national police director announced that prominent local and international companies have invested “billions for retirement havens in the country.” This, he added, “will allow the creation of world-class development for retirees.”

Aglipay urged Filpinos to “treat foreign retirees well so that they would be persuaded to live in the country.  “Let them enjoy what we enjoy,” he said.

He also said that they already started projects for Filipino retirees.

Some of the guests who welcomed the PRA officials include CREBA President Mario Lazatin and Tourism Regional Director Ronnie Tiotuico.
