CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Parts of Tarlac and Pampanga are slated to experience power outages lasting six and a half hours to eight hours on Aug. 6 and 7, respectively, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced yesterday.
NGCP corporate communications officer Lilibeth Gaydowen said the Aug. 6 power interruption in Tarlac would affect the towns of Camiling, San Clemente, and Mayantoc from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m..
“This is to give way to repair and maintenance of selected transmission line hardware along Concepcion-Camiling 69kV line segment,” Gaydowen said.
On Aug. 7, parts of Pampanga would also have power outages lasting eight hours, the also announced.
“Consumers of Pampanga Electric Cooperative II (PELCO II) and San Fernando Light and Power Corporation (SFELAPCO) will experience brownout from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” Gaydowen said.
The affected areas include the towns of Guagua, Porac, Floridablanca, and portions of Lubao.
Gaydowen said the outage would pave the way for the “replacement of selected woodpoles along Hermosa-Guagua and Guagua-Basa 69kV line segment.”
She assured Tarlac and Pampanga consumers, however, that “normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.”
