Power outage slated in NE, Aurora

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Three cities and 18 towns in Nueva Ecija and five towns in Aurora province will experience 10-hour power outages today, July 8, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced yesterday.

    The NGCP said some of its transmission facilities would be shut down “to facilitate annual preventive maintenance of power transformer at Cabanatuan Substation simultaneous with maintenance works along Cabanatuan-Pantabangan and Cabanatuan- Baler 69kVline.”

    Those to be affected by the shutdown are the San Jose Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Sajelco), Pantabangan Municipal Electric Services (PMES), Nueva Ecija II-Electric Cooperative, Inc.-Area I (Neeco II-Area I), Nueva Ecija II-Electric Cooperative, Inc.-Area II (Neeco II-Area II) and Aurora Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Aurelco).

    The power outage would last from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    NGCP said that in Nueva Ecija, the cities affected are San Jose, Munoz including the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), and Palayan and the towns of Aliaga, Talavera, Sto Domingo, Quezon, Licab, Guimba, Talugtog, Lupao, Carranglan, Pantabangan, Talavera, Natividad, Llanera, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, Rizal and Sto Domingo.

    In Aurora province, the power outage would be experienced in the towns of Dingalan, San Luis, Maria Aurora, Baler and Dipaculao, NGCP said.
