CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Politically motivated.”

Thus, Pampanga 4th District Rep. Juan Pablo Bondoc dismissed the complaint for plunder filed against him and several others before the National Bureau of Investigation by former Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo and one Daniel Gallardo.

Pelayo lost to Bondoc in the 2013 congressional contest. This, even as the lawmaker admitted that he has yet to see a copy of the formal complaint.

“There are no irregularities,” Bondoc said in a media report, adding that government construction projects in Candaba are “within standards” and promised more projects to start soon.

Bondoc denied having any involvement in alleged irregular construction projects in Candaba town, as it is the Department of Public Works and Highways that implements the projects.

He said he welcomed any investigation to seek the truth in government construction programs pursuant to the policy of transparency and accountability.

At the same time, the multi-term congressman vouched for the EddMari Construction as being “one of the best construction companies in the country.

Pelayo has tagged EddMari as “close” to the Bondocs and that it allegedly gets a lion’s share of the construction projects in Candaba.

On Pelayo’s challenge to the congressman to join him in a public inspection of the questioned projects, Bondoc advised Pelayo to instead answer the plunder case lodged against the former mayor.
