Police nab Korean for driving stolen car

    CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga—A Korean National was nabbed by Operatives of the Highway Patrol Group 3 (HPG3), while driving a carnapped vehicle when he was flagged down in a check point along Friendship Highway in Angeles City, police said.

    Sr. Supt. Fernando Villanueva, HPG3 regional chief, identified the suspect as Kang Ho Won, 34, a Korean, residing at Robinson Tower, Manila.

    Won was apprehended by HPG3 Special Operation Team (SOT) driving a blue Ford Expedition (WKB-899).

    Verification made by SOT operatives at the HPG3 data base found out that the vehicle was carnapped prompting police operatives to impound the vehicle and arrest the suspect.

    Record showed that the Ford Expedition was registered to Jason Tai of Barangay Ninoy Aquino, Angeles City.

    Report also showed that Won barrowed the vehicle to a certain Kim Sung Woo, also a Korean residing at Hyatt Hotel in Manila.

    Won is still at the custody of HPG3 Regional Office for further investigation.
