ANGELES CITY – The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin, Jr., will distribute milk formula beginning on Monday, April 27.
Lazatin procured P5 million worth of milk and other children’s needs to be distributed to poor children. However, Lazatin stressed that he personally promotesthat breast milk is best for infants.
Lazatin instructed Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel to supervise the distribution with Gender and Development Office and City Nutrition Office.
The distribution will start in Barangay Agapito Del Rosario where 244 kids will receive milk.
Manuel said milk will be distributed door-to-door in 33 barangays based on the household survey of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Population Workers.
A survey was conducted per barangay last March 31 to check the needs of families with children, she added.
In a related development, Lazatin has also allocated P5 million for the purchase of Vitamin C supplements for children.
