ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has directed the environmental management system and the city environment and natural resources office to conduct a citywide clean-up drive starting May 13, following the conduct of the national and local elections.
According to Lazatin, the immediate post-election cleanup is part of the city’s continuing commitment to public cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
“We want to ensure that our streets, schools, and public spaces are cleared of campaign materials and waste left behind after the elections,” Lazatin said. “This is also our way of reminding everyone to respect our environment—win or lose.”
The teams from EMS, headed by Francis Pangilinan, and CENRO, led by Jenifer Castro, will be deployed to focus on major thoroughfares, polling precincts, and other public areas where campaign-related litter may have accumulated.
Lazatin also encouraged candidates and supporters to participate in the cleanup efforts as a show of unity and civic responsibility.
“Let’s all do our part. Our work for the community doesn’t stop at the polls,” Lazatin added. Angeles CIO
