Pogi inaugurates 4 state-of-the-art computer labs

ANGELES CITY — Four state-of-the-art computer laboratories were opened Tuesday, Jan. 14, in public schools here, bringing to 16 those constructed and fully-operational under the administration of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.

The schools with the newest computer labs in two rooms each are the Sapangbato National High School and Malabanias Integrated School. 

Funded by the city government, two more computer labs at Gov. Rafael Lazatin Integrated School for senior and junior high school, and three more computer labs in Rafael Lazatin Memorial High School also for senior and junior high school are also set to open on Jan. 15 and 16.

The new four state-of-the-art computer laboratories are still part of the ICT Modernization Program of Mayor Lazatin, one of his campaign promises, underscoring the importance of technology in providing quality education. 

This move is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational facilities and ensure that students have access to modern technology.

Joining the mayor at the ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony were Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting along with city councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil; ABC president Danilo Nacu, chief adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin, Angeles, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo, general services officer Evangeline Malonzo, Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office chief Irish Bonus-Llego, and city engineer’s OIC Helen Ayro.

These facilities, each equipped with 40 computers, aims to meet the ideal student-to-computer ratio and improve digital learning experiences. In addition to the computers, the city government also provided computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber optics.

Back in 2024, the Angeles City High School and Northville 15 Integrated School opened three rooms each as computer laboratories, and two rooms each for Angeles City National Trade School, and Angeles City National High School. Angeles CIO
