ANGELES CITY – Certificates of recognition and cash incentives were handed out by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on July 30, to 101 student-athletes of the City College of Angeles for their triumph in the recent Association of Local Colleges and Universities Region III Sports and Cultural Competition.
Lazatin was accompanied by his chief adviser IC Calaguas during the awarding of the certificates and incentives where he cited them “for bringing recognition and pride to Angeles City.”
Angeles City garnered 12 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals in the annual sporting event.
CCA captured the gold medals in men’s volleyball, men’s basketball 5×5, men’s basketball 3×3, esports, chess women’s team, chess board 2, badminton mixed doubles, folk dance, contemporary dance, freestyle dance, choir competition, vocal duet competition, and Ms. ALCU.
While CCA also finished second in vocal duet competition, and chess women’s board 1.
Bronze medals were also awarded to Mr. ALCU, hiphop competition, badminton women’s doubles, badminton women’s single, chess men’s team, and chess men’s board 4.
Each team received ₱30,000 – ₱10,000 for the director, ₱5,000 each for the coaches, and ₱3,000 each for the assistant coaches. Angeles CIO
