TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) deployed all-female teams in provincial checkpoints.

This is in line with the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) and its sub-theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan!”

TPPO Deputy Provincial Director of Operations PLtCol. Philip Antang said three all-female teams led by a female officer were prepared ahead to be deployed in checkpoint operations.

“With precision and dedication, these police women are proving that gender is not a limitation when it comes to safeguarding communities and ensuring safety on the roads,” Antang said.

He emphasized that the initiative is part of the intensified preventive security measures to deter lawless elements while advancing women’s empowerment in promoting public safety and security services.

“The all-female checkpoint operation supplemented the simultaneous checkpoints and regular anti-criminality checkpoints within the province,” he added.

Other activities of TPPO in line with the NWMC include conduct of Seminars on Republic Act 9262 otherwise known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, tree planting, feeding activity, and Women’s night.

Also, gift-giving and feeding to kids with special needs at St. Joseph Home for Special Children. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
