CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) has reported strong gains in the government’s anti-drug drive with the confiscation of almost P907 million worth of illegal drugs in Central Luzon.

This accomplishment was recorded in the first 100 days under the leadership of Police Regional Director PBGen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr.

From June 19 to September 27, law enforcers seized a total of P906,564,241.60 worth of illegal drugs in the region, which included 132,058 grams of shabu valued at P898,000,118.80; 34,326.48 grams of marijuana worth P2,769,688; and other substances such as cocaine, ecstasy, and kush valued at P3,089,872.

Police Regional Office 3 reports strong gains in the government’s anti-drug drive, confiscating P906.56 million worth of illegal drugs in Central Luzon during the first 100 days of Regional Director PBGen. These results demonstrate the regional police office’s contribution to the intensified anti-drug campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which aims to dismantle syndicates and protect the youth from the dangers of illegal drugs.

Beyond its anti-drug operations, the office also marked accomplishments in crime reduction, arrest of wanted persons, and law enforcement.

During the same 100-day period, it recorded 4,426 index crime cases, a decrease of 48 compared to 4,474 cases in the same period last year.

Focus crimes likewise went down by 100 cases, from 1,021 to 921 this year.

Authorities arrested 1,596 wanted persons, including 370 classified as most wanted.

“Our first 100 days stand as proof of what unity, discipline, and dedication can achieve,” Peñones said.

Also in September, PRO3 captured the Top 10 Regional Most Wanted Persons within a week, sending a clear signal that fugitives will not escape the law.

Moreover, the unit intensified its campaign against loose firearms, confiscating 635 assorted illegal firearms and arresting 330 violators.

Meanwhile, PRO 3 secured peace and order during the 53rd Martial Law Anniversary demonstrations on September 21.

While some personnel deployed in Mendiola, Manila sustained injuries, no casualties were recorded among both demonstrators and the police.

Officials attributed this to the observance of maximum tolerance and respect for human rights.

“Guided by the orders of the Acting PNP Chief, PLtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., we reaffirm our commitment to protect the people, pursue peace and order, and promote professionalism within the ranks. This is only the beginning—our fight against crime and our mission to serve with excellence will continue stronger than ever,” he added.

PRO 3 assured the public that it will sustain its efforts in support of the administration’s whole-of-nation approach against crime and illegal drugs, stressing that lasting peace and security remain the ultimate goal for Central Luzon communities. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
