SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – A joint operation by members of the Philippine National Police in Zambales and investigators from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority led to the arrest recently of a most wanted person in the province of Zambales.
According to a report forwarded to the Zambales Provincial Police Office, suspect Jomar Mayo y Sarmiento who is facing a rape case in Zambales, was located last Friday, July 30, while working in a company at the Subic Techno Park in this free port.
The 37-year-old suspect, who is single and a native of Barangay Guisguis in the town of Sta. Cruz, Zambales, worked as a forklift operator at the G-1 Boton Area of Juken Sangyo Philippines Corp., a Subic-registered business locator.
Operatives from the Zambales police command and the SBMA Intelligence and Investigation Office conducted the operation on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Josefina Farrales of Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Iba, Zambales.
Mayo is charged with rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the act providing for stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination. The warrant of arrest has a no bail recommendation.
Following initial investigation here, Mayo was brought to the Zambales police office for documentation and disposition.
