CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Philippine National Police launched Friday the BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank project in Central Luzon.

A nationwide initiative of newly installed PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the project aims to help indigents greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Police Regional Office was able to give relief packs to our Muslim brothers and sisters, indigenous peoples and the women’s sector in various parts of Central Luzon,” Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon said.

“In these trying times, the bayanihan spirit must be inculcated to every Filipino’s heart. We must show compassion to those in need and help without expecting anything in return. We appeal to all our kind-hearted kababayans to help or donate cash or in kind for our fellow Filipinos thru this project,” he added.

It could be recalled that at the onset of the community pantry phenomenon, the Nueva Ecija police office established pantries in all its municipal stations. Other police stations in different towns in Pampanga also set their own pantries. With Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA-3
