ISANG mabituing gabi ng pagbibigay-parangal sa mga Alagad ng Musika ang matagumpay na idinaos ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) 6th Star Awards for Music noong Linggo, ika-14 ng Setyembre, 2014, sa Grand Ballroom ng Solaire Resort and Casino, lungsod ng Paranaque.
Nagsilbing hosts sina Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca at Christian Bautista. Si Maja, na nagwagi ng Dance Album of the Year, ay naghandog ng isang song and dance number; ang mag-amang Gary V at Kiana Valenciano ay nagduweto; at sa Opening Number, inawit ng mga nominado para sa Song of the Year ang kanilang kalahok na kanta: Basilyo (Lord, Patawad), Gloc 9 (Magda), Jonalyn Viray (Help Me Get Over), Abra (Gayuma), Kris Lawrence (Ikaw Pala), Angeline Quinto (Nag-Iisa) at Sarah Geronimo (Ikot).
Kumopo ng parangal ang mga sumusunod: 2 award si Gary Valenciano (Concert of the Year, at Male Recording Artist of the Year), 2 rin si Sarah Geronimo (Pop Album of the Year, at Female Recording Artist of the Year), 2 kay Kris Lawrence (RNB Artist of the Year at RNB Album of the Year), 2 kay Noel Cabangon (Acoustic Artist of the Year at Acoustic Album of the Year), 2 rin sa Spongecola (Rock Artist of the Year at Rock Album of the Year), at 3 naman para kay Vice Ganda (Novelty Artist of the Year, Novelty Album of the Year, at Male Concert Performer of the Year).
Napagwagian ni Jonalyn Viray ang Song of the Year (Help Me Get Over) at ang Liham at Lihim ni Gloc 9 ang waging Abum of the Year. Bukod sa Album of the Year, wagi rin si Gloc 9 ng Rap Artist of the Year at Rap Album of the Year para sa Liham at Lihim.
Nagbigay ng tribute para sa Parangal Levi Celerio awardee na si G. Ryan Cayabyab sina Christian Bautista, Celeste Legaspi at Ryan Cayabyab Singers (RCS). Sina Pops Fernandez at ang Final Four ng The Voice Kids na sina Darren Espanto, Juan Karlo Labajo, Darlene Vibares at Lyca Gairanod naman ang nagalay ng tribute kay Bb. Lea Salonga na siyang ginawaran ng Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement award. Nagwagi rin si Lea Salonga ng Female Concert Performer of the Year.
Male at Female Celebrity of the Night sina Gary Valenciano at Sarah Geronimo; ang Male at Female Star of the Night naman ay sina Gary Valenicano at Lea Salonga. Ang natsitsismis na magnobyong Erik Santos at Angeline Quinto (na sweet nang gabing iyon at sabay pang umuwi) ay wagi ring Compilation Album of the Year at Female Artist of the Year respectively.
Hindi nakarating ang mga nagwaging sina Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla (Male Pop Artist of the Year) at Richard Yap (na naka-tie si Herbert C sa New Male Recording Artist of the Year). Ang Gabi ng Parangal ay mapapanood sa ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best sa ika-21 ng Setyembre, ganap na 11:00 ng gabi.
Ang 6th PMPC Star Awards for Music ay mula sa produksyon ng Airtime Marketing ni Ms. Tess Celestino at sa direksyon ni Arnel Natividad.
