CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — “Gusto kong tulungan ang mga batang kapos sa pagkain para maging mas ganado sila sa pag-aaral at mas gumaling sa klase.”

Thus, businessman philanthropist Rodolfo “Tatay Bong” Pineda laid out a comprehensive feeding program for undernourished elementary pupils across Pampanga’s third district, aiming to provide daily nutritious meals to some 5,000 schoolchildren.

The Pineda family patriarch outlined the program in a recent meeting at the newly opened Tatay’s Grill with Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu and Vice Mayor Ron Dungca, former Arayat vice mayor businessman Sixto Mallari, Chris Pelayo of Sta. Ana, and Lubao councilor Jay Victorino.

To be served under the program will be freshly cooked meals, including chicken kaldereta, adobo, and afritada, paired with rice from Monday to Friday. In addition, vitamins will be provided to further improve the children’s nutritional intake.

The program will run for six months in partnership with local officials and teachers. Feeding activities are now underway in Lubao and Arayat, with Bacolor, Mexico, and Sta. Ana scheduled to follow shortly.
