CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Lilia “Baby” Pineda yesterday led the launching of two activities at the Capitol including a project aimed at saving children from measles.

Pineda said they are targeting to give oral vaccination to some 350,000 children in Pampanga.
“This is one way of stopping diseases,” said Pineda in the dialect.

At 6:00 a.m. Monday, Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) chief Art Punzalan and Board Members Monina “Monz” Laus and Fritzie David-Dizon led the advocacy walk to drumbeat the Philippine Earth Day this month.

Punzalan disclosed that they will distribute various seedlings to Capitol employees.

“We believe that by planting in our own backyard, we will be able monitor and take care of them. We can also promote food security,” he said.

Punzalan also said that Pineda will also lead a campaign to clean “its own backyard at the Capitol.”

Pineda also awarded Best Practices Award on Waste Segregation to five department heads that include Provincial Administrator Andres S. Pangilinan, Jr., Chief Librarian Bessie D. Makabali, Provincial treasurer Magdalena Quebal, Provincial Legal Officer Cecil Andin, and Provincial Accountant Benjamin Yuzon.
