ANGELES CITY — The first private motor vehicle inspection center (PMVIC) in the country officially opened its service facility here with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 19.

Led by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and 2nd District Rep. Mikey Arroyo, the ceremony formally opened the QWIK Motor Vehicle Inspection Service, a private road safety service authorized by the government through its PMVIC program under the Land Transportation Office (LTO) of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

It was learned that the program was started even before 2004 by then Transportation Secretary Pantaleon Alvarez under the administration of then President Macapagal-Arroyo.

Now, in the present administration of President Duterte, the PMVIC program is a high-tech system of making sure that the vehicles run safe on the roads.

The QWIK Motor Vehicle Inspection Service is committed to uphold the guidelines and policies of the government by ensuring that it only uses a reliable and trustworthy, fully automated inspection equipment from ACTIA Automotive, one of the leading automotive engineering services providers worldwide.

“If we make this a standard, it will be very hard to follow because all the equipment will not only pass the standards but will be much higher than the required standard. If this will be included in the standards of our machines and sensors in the Philippines, then our country will be in good hands,” said Arroyo.

Located along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Sto. Domingo here, the QWIK PMVIC is the first facility out of 138 centers that will be put up nationwide as authorized by the LTO.

The ACTIA equipment is distributed locally by Optimum Enforcement Manufacturing Inc. at pmvic.actia@optimumenforcement. co as QWIK PMVIC ‘s technical partner.
