PhilMech releases 2nd batch of farm machineries

A TOTAL of 18 units of four-wheel drive tractor were distributed to a total of 18 qualified farmer groups and cooperatives in Tarlac province as part of the second batch of the farm mechanization of the Philippine Center for Postharvest and Mechanization [
PhilMech] under the Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund [RCEF] through the initiative of the Provincial Government of Tarlac-Office of the Provincial Agriculture.

The tractors, amounting to P22,500,000 were awarded by Governor Susan Yap at the Provincial Engineering Office compound last March 4 with Assistant Cluster Head-Luzon A Engr. Roger Calderon and Provincial Agriculturist Alicia Cruz at the helm.

In her message, Yap reminded the farmer groups and cooperative to make use of the machineries to the fullest.

“Use your tractors to the fullest and I expect you to be more productive now that slowly, each and every farmer groups and cooperatives are now being mechanized,” Yap said.

The 18 farmers group and cooperatives which received tractors worth P1,250-million each were the Carabaoan Farmer’s Association, Barangay Mamonit-Mayantoc Farmer’s Association, SACATA Framers Agriculture Cooperative, Sta. Ines Golden Grains Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative, SANTAROCA VI Farmers Association, Aduas Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative Inc., Ventenilla Farmers Marketing Cooperative, Anao Farmers Agriculture Cooperative and Barangay Suaverdez Farmer’s Association Incorporated from the first district.

Maliwalo Farmer’s Marketing Cooperative, Sinait Tarlac City Farmer’s Association from the second district and Capas Seed Grower Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Bagong Henerasyonng Magsasaka Inc., Baloy Farmer’s Seed Grower Association, MFA-Mapano Farmer’s Association, Almendras Agriculture Cooperative and Caluluan Golden Grains Agriculture Cooperative from the third district.
