As part of the Corporation’s corporate social responsibility, the PhilHealth Regional Office III (PRO III) with the help of Workers for Hope, Integrity, Transparency and Empowerment (WHITE) officers in the region has conducted outreach activities on January 13 and 14, 2022 to selected institutions in Bulacan and Pampanga, thereby extending the spirit of gift giving to charitable institutions who cater to abandoned elders and children with special needs.

Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth Beneficiaries

On January 13, PRO III WHITE representatives Michael Jovellano and Juanito Robles handed sacks of rice, food, grocery and hygiene kits to Bethany House Sto. Niño Orphanage, Guiguinto and Emmaus House of Apostolate Inc., in San Agustin, Malolos City, Bulacan. Bethany House Sto. Nino Orphanage is a charitable institution under the care of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos. It is a temporary residence and home to affected children aged 0 to 12 years old, while Emmaus House of Apostolate, Inc. is a shelter for the homeless, old and sickly people who have been given up by their families.

Meanwhile on January 14, 2022, Anna Elsie Bondoc, Dexter S. Maglalang, Cecilia N. Calderon, Elline E. Maglalang, Ma. Adelinda Morales, Atty. Rae L. Acosta and Christine Ann L. Roque handed the same goods to Bahay Pag-Ibig (Home for the aged) in Telabastagan, City of San Fernando and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth, in Mabalacat, Pampanga. Bahay Pag-Ibig is a home for the elderly abandoned by their families. On the other hand, Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth is a facility for the poor, surrendered and abandoned, mentally challenged, autistic, epileptic children, and people with special needs.

“Together, we can achieve great things in our own simple ways. As Mother Teresa said, “None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.” Even if COVID – 19 closed doors of opportunities, it nevertheless opened diverse and bountiful blessings waiting for us to receive and share,” PRO III Acting Vice President Edgardo Faustino remarked.

Indeed, PhilHealth gives back the blessings to brothers and sisters who needed them most. This is the PRO III way — with a great smile and a big heart for everyone!
