CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In order to allow the public to ask questions and air complaints, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Region 3 launched on Monday its “Txt Tanong and Txt Sumbong” hotline numbers.

The public may send their messages to 2987 for Sun subscribers and 0922-999-2786 for other networks using the following formats: philhealth (space) TNG (space) message for inquiries; and philhealth (space) SMG (space) message for concerns and complaints. Each text message is worth P2.50.

PhilHealth’s benefits, programs and policies can now be asked directly to the government agency.

For simple queries and complaints, PhilHealth 3 said it can provide answers within eight hours. But for more complex queries, PhilHealth 3 said it will address them within 72 hours.

This was the assurance made by PhilHealth Region 3 Branch A manager Lemuel Untalan. He said this interactive facility is geared towards gathering data on the most frequently asked questions and the most common concerns raised by stakeholders in the easiest and most convenient way which is via text messaging.

“This facility will pave the way for us to analyze and improve the level of awareness and appreciation on benefits and programs, as well as the delivery of services to our members and the public,” Untalan said.

For his part, PhilHealth Information Technology and Management Office head Arthur Binuya explained the process where a complaint or query will be evaluated and forwarded to the concerned branch for corresponding response or action.

The hotline is being managed by PhilHealth’s Information Technology and Management Office and Public Affairs Unit.

The project is the first in PhilHealth history nationwide aimed at providing total client satisfaction to its members.
