CLARK FREEPORT – The newly-remodeled and expanded Deco Central Showroom located at the commercial district here was formally opened on Tuesday with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pampanga director Elenita R. Ordonio as guest.

Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PhilExport) Region 3 president Crisanto Venzon said the newly remodeled Deco Central Showroom is a project of PhilExport which was established in this freeport in 2010.

Venzon, also managing director of Dale Mathis Studio, Inc. and president of Venzon Lighting, said Deco Central started as a shared showroom for 20 manufacturers and exporters.

“But now, as long as you’re a member of PhilExport 3, you are qualified to join. We have individual spaces that we rent out to the manufacturers,” he said.

Malou V. Balano, PhilExport 3 executive director, conducted a tour of the expanded showroom detailing the designs of various manufacturers in the center.

For her part, Ordonio expressed her congratulations to PhilExport 3 for its newlyrenovated showroom.

“I am very thankful that this center will really help our medium and small enterprises in promoting their products,” she declared.

Ordonio said DTI helps small and medium scale manufacturers by providing trainings to enhance their capabilities.

Meanwhile, PhilExport manufacturers who were present during the grand opening also lauded the expanded showroom which can now accommodate more displays from different manufacturers.

“We are now the furniture capital of the Philippines,” said popular furniture maker Myrna Bituin of Betis Crafts Inc.

Ligaya Munoz, owner-proprietor of KLM Furniture, also expressed her felicitations to PhilExport. “The center will give us a window to showcase our products to the world,” she said.

PhilExport is the umbrella organization of Philippine exporters accredited under the Export Development Act (EDA) of 1994. It is a nonstock, non-profit private organization born out of the unification of the Philippine Exporters Foundation and the Confederation of Philippine Exporters last August 1992, according to its website.

It is mandated to strengthen the country’s export industry through its export promotion and development programs.
