Philippine flags were installed all over the City Hall premises and off-site offices today, May 28, in observance of the 126th National Flag Day.
This is upon the orders of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. to put up Philippine flags as the city’s initiative to continue remembering the country’s victories during the colonial period.
This is in line with the objective of the city government to promote patriotism and love for the country, Lazatin says.
The said display of the country’s flag is made possible through the City Tourism Office headed by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, supervised by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.
Manuel also shared that as part of the celebration, as well as the upcoming Independence Day commemoration, the City Engineer’s Office led by Engr. Helen Ayro already installed and lit up the Independence Day lanterns along the Abacan Bridge since May 10.
Antonio-Sugui, City Tourism Officer-in-Charge, meanwhile assures the public that the city government is doing its part in enriching both Filipino and Kapampangan history and culture.
This is also not the first time that the city partook in the celebration of National Flag Day.
