ANGELES CITY – Radio broadcaster Jose Aubrey Pelayo IV who is also one of the official candidates of Partido Abe Kapampangan for councilor expressed his plans and advocacy for education in this highly urbanized city.
“During my time as a radio anchor, a lot of my listeners usually parents have been inquiring me about scholarship programs for their schoolaged children,” said Pelayo.
Pelayo added: “It is frustrating when I learned that some of the applicants whom I assisted for scholarships in some learning institutions are not being accepted because they failed to reach the required grade. Those youngsters’ dreams are crushed because of this. That is why I vow to fight for the average students to be given the opportunity for scholarship who are determined to finish their schooling.”
Pelayo, who is the spokesperson of father of City College of Angeles, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, plans increase the number of scholars in Angeles City by putting up additional courses for students who find it difficult to reach tertiary formation.
The councilorable is also planning to sit down with the educational institutions and see the feasibility to lower the required grade for scholarship to give opportunities to more students.
In addition to the scholarship program, Pelayo also airs his plan to provide transportation and food allowance for the students of City College of Angeles who have less in life.
Pelayo is the youngest son of the late Dr. Jose Pelayo, Sr. who was the former Social Welfare Secretary of President Diosdado Macapagal and former Vice Mayor of Angeles.
He is also the president of Metro Angeles City Journalists Association, Inc. and the president of Pampanga-Tarlac Energy Press Corps.
