CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is leading a high-level trade and investment mission to Malaysia from Oct. 7 to 11, highlighted with an event on Oct. 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, innovation, and cross-border business partnerships within the ASEAN region, the 2025 Philippine-Malaysia Business Networking Event will gather top industry leaders, investors, and trade officials from both countries to explore opportunities in agriculture, outsourcing, education, and regional development.
A component of PCCI’s ongoing effort to expand regional collaboration, the mission underscores the Philippines’ growing role as a hub for innovation and sustainable enterprise in Southeast Asia.
PCCI president Consul Enunina Mangio will open the program with remarks on the Philippines’ commitment to fostering inclusive and innovation-driven growth, followed by a response from an official of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM).
Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Maria Angela A. Ponce will deliver the keynote address, reaffirming the embassy’s support for initiatives that strengthen bilateral trade and long-term economic cooperation.
The business forum will feature presentations from key sector leaders, including James Peñaflorida Amparo on “The Philippine Agribusiness Situationer”; Rene G. Romero on “Pampanga and Central Luzon: Your Gateway to the Philippine Market”; and Rhoda Castro-Caliwara on “Outsourcing and Talent Development.”
Throughout the week, delegates will also participate in the 9th Selangor ASEAN Business Conference and Expo, a major regional platform for trade and investment discussions, business networking, and the signing of cooperation agreements. The itinerary includes the renewal of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between PCCI and NCCIM, as well as the renewal of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Summit MOU both designed to expand cooperation in trade promotion, gender empowerment, and entrepreneurship development.
Norjamin Delos Reyes, commercial counsellor of the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre–Kuala Lumpur, will lead the session wrap-up, highlighting the Philippines’ competitive advantages and the expanding investment opportunities between the two nations.
In her closing message, Castro-Caliwara, co-chair of the Philippine-Malaysia Business Council, will encourage delegates to sustain partnerships that promote inclusive growth and collaboration across ASEAN.
The event will conclude with a business networking session that will allow Philippine and Malaysian delegates to build lasting partnerships and explore new ventures.
The trade mission reinforces PCCI’s broader vision to serve as a catalyst for international collaboration and innovation, linking Philippine enterprises with Malaysia’s dynamic trade, education, and technology sectors, an essential step toward advancing the country’s leadership in the regional economic landscape.
