MARIVELES, Bataan — The Department of Social Welfare and Development in cooperation with the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan on Tuesday started the payout for beneficiaries of the Emergency Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation here.
AFAB administrator Emmanuel Pineda said the payout conducted at the Standard Factory Building 13 of the freeport gave priority to 2,000 workers of DLX Bags Philippines, Inc. who were affected by the fire last June.
Beneficiaries received P3,000 each. Present in the payout aside from Pineda were representatives from the offices of Sen. Bong Go, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Cong. Jett Nisay, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion and councilor Ivan Ricafrente.
“Huwag nating kalimutan ang diwa ng bayanihan para sa patuloy na pagbangon ng freeport at ang patuloy na pagtugon sa pangangalilangan ng mga nasasakupan nito,” Pineda said.
Aside from the P3,000 cash assistance, beneficiaries had the chance to win raffle prices of sunglasses, shoes, cellphones, and bikes from the office of Go. The cash distribution lasts until Wednesday.
