ANGELES CITY – “Abac na, Balen!”
Thus resound the cheers and cries of hundreds of Angeleño supporters as the members of Partido Abe Kapampangan (AbeKa) slate led by incumbent Vice Mayor Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno and Councilor Edgardo “Edu” Pamintuan Jr., file their respective Certificates of Candidacy (CoC) here on Thursday.
Prior to the CoC filing, League of Cities of the Philippines President and five term Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan led Partido AbeKa’s march from the city hall to the COMELEC office, locking arms with Nepomuceno, the younger Pamintuan and the members of the slate.
In his speech, Mayor Pamintuan expressed his confidence to the party’s slate where he also reiterated his endorsement to Nepomuceno who vies for the mayoralty seat.
Pamintuan, who is gunning for a party representative seat under the Abe Kapampangan Partylist, has been vocal on his plans to ‘graduate’ from local politics and entrust the city’s leadership to the younger breed of leaders and competent public servants who will embody the ideals and aspirations of the Angeleños.
“Nakita po ng ating mamamayan kung paano natin pinaunlad at kinumpleto ang serbisyo ng ating siyudad. Ang lahat ng mga programang ito ay hindi natin maisasaktuparan kung wala ang suporta ng Sangguniang Panlungsod sa pangunguna ni Vice Mayor Nepomuceno,” said Pamintuan.
For his part, Nepomuceno accepted Mayor Pamintuan’s challenge and vowed to continue the good change, to sustain and eventually, exceed the achievements that the city have gained under his administration should he win the mayoralty post in the May 2019 elections.
Leading AbeKa’s lineup of councilors include re-electionists Alfie Bonifacio, Danilo Lacson, Joseph “PG” Ponce, and Amos Rivera, actress JC Parker-Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, Mining Barangay Captain Chris Cortez, Tabun Barangay Captain Alma Mercado, CLAC President Thelma Indiongco, and Veteran Broadcast Journalist Jay Pelayo IV.
Also present to support the Bryan-Edu tandem is Partido AbeKa’s comebacking Congressional bet for the First District of Pampanga, Joseller “Yeng” Guiao.
