Mabalacat City –  The Department of Education in this city reported that they are 100% ready in terms of modules, teachers capacity, schools readiness in infrastructure and other educational aspects.

In a statement given by Mabalacat DepEd, the division thanked the Mabalacat City Government headed by Mayor Cris Garbo for the unwavering support through various assistance.

According to Franz Lawrence Senapilo, Teacher III of Mabalacat National High School, the provision of laptops by the city government was vital to the teaching-learning process especially during the advent of new modalities in learning amidst this pandemic.

From Mabalacat Technical Vocational School, Teacher James Paul Dungca said that “to receive a brand new, reliable and functional laptop from the City Government of Mabalacat is truly a huge blessing not only to me but also to all the teachers in the entire city. Thank you, Mayor Cris Garbo, for always listening to our needs for us to deliver quality education to our students.”

For teachers Lolita Mendoza and Jennifer Perez of Dau Elementary School, these laptops that were provided by the Mabalacat City Government are very convenient for their lesson-planning, grading and other school-related activities.

Aside from the laptops, the local government also provided two (2) digital duplicators for fast and efficient printing of modules that is very essential for this school year amidst the pandemic. Ernestina Solis, a parent who has a student enrolled at Ma. Consolacion Elementary School, said “salamat po sa tulong ng mayor natin lalo na po sa pagbibigay ng risograph machines sa pagpiprint ng modules.”

The same euphoria is being felt by the people of Mabalacat City College because of the full support of Mayor Garbo to make sure quality education is being delivered. Similar with DepEd, the MCC also acquired two (2) digital duplicators to support module printing. More so, the faculty and key personnel got postpaid plans and smartphones. In addition, deans and unit heads also received laptops. According to MCC President Michelle Aguilar-Ong, for this school year, the Mabalacat City has installed digital hubs in clustered barangays complete with computers to provide reliable internet connection for students who do not have internet in their homes. The MCC also loans tablets for students who need the gadget while studying.

Albert John Caacbay, a college student of MCC said, “the installation of these digital hubs is a big help for us students especially for those who don’t have means to get an internet connection in their houses. Napakalaki ng tulong na ito. Kahit na may tablet po kasi ang isang estudyante kung wala naman internet ay wala rin silbi. Mabuti na lamang po at marunong mag-isip ang Mabalacat City Government. Maraming salamat po!”

While the world is adjusting with the new normal because of the pandemic, the Mabalacat City Government, MCC, and DepEd go hand in hand with its commitment to produce competitive, proactive and resilient citizens who will develop and build economically progressive and morally responsive communities.

Other than DepEd and MCC, the Mabalacat City Government under the leadership of Mayor Cris Garbo also provided laptops and printers to Child Development Center teachers and the LGU has activated the Mabalacat City Early Childhood Care and Development Office.
