OLONGAPO CITY – Operatives of the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT), Zambales Provincial Investigation Branch (PIB) and Regional Intelligence Division, Region lll (RID3) arrested a serial killer in Pangasinan in his hideout in Barangay Burgos, San Antonio, Zambales.
ZCIDT provincial officer Chief Inspector Ferdinand Aguilar identifi ed the suspect as Haron Mansongayan, 38, native of Barrio Baudi Atopa, Taraka, Lanao del Sur and resident of Barangay Burgos, San Antonio, Zambales.
The suspect was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Elpidio Abella of RTC Branch 55 of Alaminos, Pangasinan for murder without bail. The suspect was charged for the killing of Sonny Boy Asia, 19; John David Almanzor, 14 and Wilcyn Palecpec, 19, all residents of Barangay Bisicol, Alaminos, Pangasinan on May 14, 2012 and went into hiding in Zambales.
“Yung asawa ko sa Pangasinan ay may lalaki, pinauuwi ko ayaw niya at doon nagsimula ng pagtatalo namin ng kanyang mga kapatid at pinsan kung kaya binaril ko sila,” said the suspect in an interview. Mansongayan was also facing two more cases in the gun slaying of Ruben Radovan, 31, last Mach 8 in Barangay Amandiego and Jaime Pulido, 52 of Barangay Pocal-Pocal on March 9 in Mabini, Pangasinan.
In May 2012, Supt. Rollie Saltat, chief of police of Alaminos, Pangasinan said Mayor Hernani Braganza put up a P400,000 bounty, while the family of the victim raised P100,000 for the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect was also tagged as No. 2 Most Wanted Person in the province of Zambales. He is now in custody of the ZCIDT and will be transferred to Alaminos, Pangasinan.
