CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In line with the project of the national government to improve health services, 17 graduates of residency training at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH) will be deployed to the 11 district and provincial hospitals in Pampanga.

“As we all know, the number one priority of the province is the health of Kapampangans. This added manpower to the hospitals supervised by the Capitol will assure more the quality of health service rendered to our fellow constituents,” Acting Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda said, thanking the Department of Health and JBLMRH for the Deployment Plan.

According to DOH Regional Director III Cesar Cassion, the province is very cooperative in accepting the program.

Moreover, JBLMRH Chief Dr. Monserrat Chichioco commended the intensive efforts of the Provincial Government in maintaining the services in public hospitals.

“The DOH, JBLMRH, and the Capitol are always partners to provide the health needs of Kapampangans,” she added.

The 17 medical residents were deployed according to their specialties: Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Internal Medicine.

Among the 17, five are Pediatricians, four are Anesthesiologists and eight are practicing Internal Medicine.

Although work schedule is only from 8am to 5pm, the doctors will be on call 24/7 on referrals and emergencies. Benefits (except PHIC) and salaries will still be shouldered by JBLMRH.

Meanwhile, Vice Gov. Delta Pineda reminded them to exert “maximum tolerance” when it comes to patients, since most of them are from indigenous families.

Second District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, Chairperson of the Committee on Health, urged them to have a harmonious relationship with their Chief of Hospitals and co-workers.

The residents will also receive an orientation from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Dr. Marcelo Jaochico.

The Post-Deployment Plan was initiated last May 2015, under Administrative Order 2015-0021. Also attending the meeting are Board Member Cherry Manalo, Chief and staff of Hospitals, department heads led by Provincial Administrator Atty. Andres Pangilinan Jr. and Provincial Health team leader Dr. Amelito Nicolas.
