CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Three suspected drug peddlers were killed, 270 “drug personalities” were arrested, and 1,466 plastic sachets of shabu were confiscated by the police in anti-drug operations in this province last July alone.

In a report yesterday, Pampanga police director Senior Supt. Joel Consulta said the intensified implementation of Double Barrel Reloaded, a police campaign against illegal drugs, also led to 42 buy-bust operations.

“The death of two drug personalities was a result of an armed encounter that transpired during the conduct of buy-bust operation at Bacolor Pampanga. The suspects tried to escape and furiously opened fire when they sensed that the poseur buyer was a police officer,” the report said.

It also said the third fatality was a barangay tanod of San Nicolas, Floridablanca who was considered by the police as a high value target. “Aside from five pieces of plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, the operatives also recovered three .45 and one 9mm firearms from his possession,” the report said.

Consulta urged Pampanga folk to continuously help the police force in the fight against illegal drugs by reporting drug personalities they know.
