Pampanga gov’t gives medical kits to private school disaster coordinators

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Vice Governor Dennis “Delta”Pineda on Monday led the distribution of First Aid Kits to 116 disaster coordinators who are also private school teachers from different towns in Pampanga.

    The vice governor was assisted by Angelina Blanco of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offi ce (PDRRMO) and Leonardo Zapanta of the Department of Education (DepEd) in handing out the bags of kits to the recipients held at the PDRRMO Warehouse, PEO Compound Sindalan, this city.

    The First Aid Kits consisted of medical supplies for emergency purposes including a tongue depressor, thermal blanket, Stethoscope and Sphygmomanometer.

    Blanco said the First Aid kits will be used as primary tools in the school in case an emergency disaster strikes.

    She also disclosed that the awarding of First Aid Kits is the second time in the province and the first time for private school coordinators.

    The first one was held last year with at least 550 DRRM teacher-coordinators from public schools benefiting from the program.

    She said that each kit cost P5, 000 or a total amount of P 580,000 for all 116 recipients. Apart from the kits, the DRRM coordinators were also given P1, 000 cash for their travel expenses.

    In his message, Vice Governor Pineda thanked the DRRM teacher coordinators for their cooperation to help the school and their students.

    He also urged them to assist in disseminating the skills they learned from the training to their fellow teachers.
