The event, dubbed “Pampanga Motor Show and Shine,” kicked-off with a motorcade at the Laus Group Event Center in the City of San Fernando that showcased military jeeps, 4 x 4 trucks, and Mini Cooper vintage cars with the Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2017 candidates.
Noel Castro, event coordinator, said the motor show aims to entice car enthusiasts by way of a car show, a festival of the best food off ered in Pampanga, and a night concert.
“Our aim is to invite enthusiasts. This is a way of boosting our tourism and this is a good opportunity,” he added.
He also added that there were 85 cars who participated in the one-dayevent.
They were grouped into five categories, namely: Old Japanese Toy Car, Sports Car, Vintage Car, Classic Car, and Military Jeeps.
Some of the cars that were featured are a 1924 Durant previously owned by Don Carlos Palanca, a 1962 Cadillac that was once given by the late actor Fernando Poe, Jr. to then Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada, a 1948 Buick Eight, 1940s Willis military jeeps, among others.
Among the visitors were Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Board Members Rosve Henson and Fritzie David-Dizon, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Andres Pangilinan, Jr. and Capitol Department Heads.
The Pampanga Motor Show is in line with the celebration of the 446th Aldo ning Kapampangan.
