CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga provincial government approved recently additional funding for financial assistance to bedridden senior citizens.
The aid for the elderly increased from P1,000 to P2,000 per quarter. This was announced by provincial social welfare development officer Elizabeth Baybayan in a post in the province’s official social media page.
Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and the sangguniang panlalawigan approved the increase to help more bedridden Kapampangans needing financial help..
“Nagpapasalamat ako na may pamunuan tayo na may pusong mapagkalinga sa ating mga senior citizen, nakita naman natin na malaki talaga ang impact ng mga programa nila pagdating sa social protection na layong bigyang-pansin ang marginalized at vulnerable sectors na nangangailangan talaga ng kalinga,” Baybayan said in the port.
Last week, a total of 281 representatives and family members of bedridden senior citizens each received P1,000, milk supplies, and food packs from the provincial government for the respective seniors under their care.
The current distribution is part of the funding allocation from last year. The program aims to support the families of senior citizens.
The provincial government helps bedridden individuals who are also going through the economic difficulties brought about by the pandemic.
Pampanga is also giving the P100,000 one-time subsidy and award of recognition to residents 95 years old and above which by national law is extended to only those who reached 100. Punto News Team/Pampanga PIO
