CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— From Friday (March 13) nights first confirmed case of Covid-19, there are now three recorded cases in Pampanga with one mortality last March 11, Gov. Dennis Pineda said Saturday.

The dead patient dubbed PAMP 3 was reported by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the City of San Fernando through an official statement released on Saturday and confirmed by the DOH. Admitted on March 9, he died on March 11 but the test results confirmed the infection on the night of March 13. The hospital assured it has been taking infection control. PAMP 3’s neighbor was reported to have had a history of travel to Singapore

The first known patient dubbed PAMP 1, is a Grab driver plying the Clark Freeport and Pampanga routes. He is confined in a Metro Manila hospital. His family resides in Porac town.

The second patient, PAMP 2, worshipped in a prayer room in San Juan and was exposed to one confirmed case. PAMP 2 is now confined, quarantined, and being treated at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, a facility managed by the Department of Health.

Pineda said those who came in contact with these patients are being traced by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit.

“I am appealing to my kabalen who had recent travels abroad and who showed symptoms of Covid-19 to come to me and seek my help,” he said.

The governor has called the Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to an emergency meeting on Monday to be able to obtain its approval for him to request the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to place Pampanga in a state of calamity.

“Please remain calm. Stay at home as much as possible,” he said.
