SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – Promdi presidential bet Sen. Manny Pacquiao smacked rival former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as one lacking in moral ascendancy to lead the country.
“Wala,” the boxing icon said of the dictator’s son when it came to the moral ascendancy to be the country’s next president.
Pacquiao, along with former Samar Gov. Lutz Barbo, visited the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) and met with some farmers and talked to the residents of this city and nearby San Jose City, and met with local officials in Guimba town, all in Nueva Ecija.
Pacquiao stressed that Marcos has been charged with corruption in connection with the P205-million pork barrel scam of Janet Lim Napoles.
“Sa akin, wala. Ewan ko yung taumbayan. Alam na nila yun siguro, alam ko matatalino naman ang taumbayan,” he said, of Marcos Jr.
He said a certain individual approached him for Napoles when he was a congressman. The go-between, he said, told him he would receive a 70 percent kickback from any contract.
“Sabi ko huwag na kaming mag-usap baka mainsulto ko pa siya,” he added explaining how he refused a meeting with Napoles.
Marcos, who has been floating unity, has yet to reply on Pacquiao’s comments.
