MANILA — The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission has signed a manifesto with anothernational government agency as part of the commitment of President Duterte in fighting graft and corruption in the government.
Via zoom conference, the PACC held Tuesday the manifesto signing activity with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources led by Secretary Roy Cimatu with all his undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, department heads, regional directors, officers and personnel together with its attached agencies. Signed was the pledge of cooperation and oath of honesty in support of Project: Kasangga, Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon.
PACC chairman Greco Belgica explained that “Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon” is primarily aimed to solicit the full cooperation and support of all government agencies in the executive department as well as other stakeholders in curbing graft and corruption.
It provides for the establishment of command centers from the national level offices of every department down to the lowest units of their bureaucracy and aimed primarily to monitor, report, investigate and resolve cases and incidents of corruption directly where it happens.
In its Road Map 2022, the PACC focuses on three major objectives: (1) Internal Reforms which includes automation, streamlining of rules in the disposition of cases, and creation of an Information and Resource Management Office; (2) Anti-Corruption Operations and Advocacies; and (3) the Pursuance of its Legislative Agenda and Beyond program for continuity of the government’s gains in ensuring public accountability and good governance.
Cimatu expressed the full support of the DENR to the PACC’s call to arms against corruption and fulfill the President’s desire in ensuring the mantra that “public office is a public trust.”
Belgica emphasized that PACC will “give flesh and action” to President Duterte’s commitment in combatting corruption and eliminating bureaucratic red tape even in the remaining months of the present administration.
“We will conduct series of manifesto signing with all government agencies to make sure that public funds are spent for services and projects as intended,” Belgica added.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways, Bureau of Customs,Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Transportation, and National Youth Commission havealso marked their commitment with the PACC in fighting corruption in the government. — PACC-PIO
