P8.4-M shabu seized, 5 arrested in Malolos buy-bust

MALOLOS CITY – Seven kilograms of suspected shabu valued at some P8.4 million were seized and five suspects were arrested by elements of the   Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bulacan police in a joint anti-drug operation in Barangay Tikay here on Feb. 15.

Those arrested, police said, were a 46-year-old female, a 41-year-old male, a 19-year-old male, a 21-year-old female, and a 20-year-old male.

Confiscated from them were one vacuum-sealed transparent plastic containing approximately 1,000 grams of suspected shabu concealed in a brown-gold foil pack labeled “Freeze-dried Durian.” Additional six similarly labeled brown-gold foil packs containing an estimated 6,000 grams of suspected shabu were subsequently recovered from the suspects. 

Aside from the illegal drugs, the suspects also yielded one genuine P1,000 bill incorporated with 12 bundles of boodle money used as buy-bust money; one identification card; one NBI clearance; two Android cellphones; one pair of scissors; and one aqua green paper bag.

The suspects are now under the custody of PDEA for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges for violations of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Commending the successful; operations, the Bulacan Police Provincial Office reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations in partnership with PDEA and other law enforcement agencies to eradicate illegal drugs in the province. 

“The cooperation between these agencies serves as a strong deterrent to individuals engaged in drug-related activities, ensuring that justice is served and communities remain safe,” it said. Punto News Team/BPPO
