P75-M shabu seized in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT – The Bureau of Customs and Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III, intercepted a shipment of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth ₱75,072,000 during a joint airport interdiction operation on Aug. 30 here.

A suspicious parcel declared as an “Industrial Water Chiller” with tracking number 883725003206, shipped from Mexico and consigned to an address in Cainta, Rizal upon inspection yielded 11.04 kilograms of shabu concealed within the shipment.

Arrested during the operation were two suspects identified as alias Dexs, 52, of Cebu, and alias Maca, 54, of Tarlac. Both will face charges for violation of Sections 4, 11, and 20, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

 

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez commended the seamless collaboration of all law enforcement and border control agencies, stressing that the interception highlights the government’s unyielding commitment to cut the supply of illegal drugs at the country’s ports of entry.

“This interdiction success underscores our united front against international drug trafficking. We will remain vigilant in safeguarding our ports and borders to protect Filipino communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” Nerez said.

The CLARK-IADITG vowed to intensify operations in line with the whole-of-nation approach under the directives and vision of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., against illegal drugs. PDEA-3
