P6-M cocaine brick fished out of Dingalan

CABANATUAN CITY – A brick of suspected cocaine, with estimated street value of P6.3 million, was fished out of by a Nueva Ecija fisherman off the seashore of Dingalan, Aurora at about 10 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The fisherman, identified only as “Mon-mon” of Poblacion, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija turned over the brick to the police at about 1 p.m. Sunday, according to Senior Supt. Leon Victor Rosete.

The brick was wrapped with a plastic and sealed with rubber tape, Rosete said. It was was immediately brought to the Nueva Ecija Police Crime Laboratory Office (NEPCLO) which confirmed Monday that the brick was indeed cocaine weighing 1.19 kilograms, Rosete added.

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) placed the prevalent price of cocaine at P5,300 per gram.

The drugs will be brought to Camp Crame for confirmatory test though.

Police units from Aurora and Nueca Ecija provinces are now conducting coordinated follow up investigation on the incident.
