LIMAY, Bataan — A government hospital funded for P400 million will soon rise in this town with the groundbreaking held Friday.
Hausland Group president Willy Tan donated a 2,000-square meter lot at Seabreeze in Barangay St. Francis II for the hospital. His son, lawyer Ryan Tan, attended the groundbreaking.
Gov. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III said that the hospital was the realization of his project while still congressman of the second district.
House Bill No. 8759 or ‘An Act Establishing in the Municipality of Limay in Bataan a General Hospital to be known as the Limay General Hospital” was authored by then Cong. Garcia. “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng ating nakatuwang upang maisakatuparan ang ospital na ito,” Garcia said.
Bataan 2nd District Rep. Albert Garcia, the former governor, said that in about a year, the Limay hospital will be serving not only Limay residents but also those of neighboring towns.
Congressman Garcia said that the P400 million fund to be used in the construction of the hospital came from the provincial government, Limay municipal government, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
“Salamat at natupad na rin ang matagal na nating pangarap,” he enthused.
Limay Mayor Nelson David, son Vice mayor Richie David, and sangguniang bayan members were grateful that a general hospital will rise in the town which is home to the government arsenal, Petron Bataan Refinery, coal plant, and other firms.
They said the long-desired hospital will be of big help to Limay and nearby town residents.
DPWH 2nd District Engineer Ulyses Llado also attended the groundbreaking.
