ANGELES CITY – A Chinese national and his Filipina cohort yielded P4.8 million worth of shabu and party drugs in a buy-bust operation conducted by combined elements of the city police drug enforcement and intelligence units in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malabanias here Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the suspects as Chinese national Zhe Huang, 30, with listed residence at 801 Tower D Sea Residence MOA Complex, Pasay City; and Leslie Sumabal Acunin, aka “Lexie,” 19, and resident of 9 th Street, Barangay Lakandula, Mabalacat City.
The two were arrested during the buy-bust at the ABC Hotel parking lot along Don Juico Avenue, Barangay Malabanias. Along with the seized evidence, they were brought at Police Station 4 for proper disposition.
Confiscated from the two were 87 grams of shabu worth P591,600; two kilos of party drug Ecstasy (color blue) worth P4,000,000; chewable Ecstasy (color yellow); 12 packs of Ecstasy (color orange) worth P24,000; 14 packs of chewable Ecstasy (color orange) worth 28,000; 35 grams (7 packs) of Ketamine (salt) worth P50,000; 35 grams (7 packs) of Ketamine (crystal) worth P60,000; one box of liquid marijuana vape worth P54,000.
The assorted illegal drugs have a total street value of P4,807,600. Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. commended the Angeles City Police Office led by director Col. Amado Mendoza for the arrest and the confiscation of illegal drugs.
From his first day in office, Lazatin has vowed to eradicate illegal drugs in the city in a bid to have a safe, peaceful and productive city.
At his direction, surprise drug tests are conducted on all city hall employees every year. “We aim for a drug-free workplace, and by assuring this, we will continue to conduct anti-drug efforts to reduce if not eliminate the demand of illegal drugs,” he said.
Those who tested positive for drug use had been sent for rehabilitation. Recently, Lazatin also subjected all elected barangay and sangguniang kabataan officials to mandatory drug testing — 33 barangay captains, 231 kagawads, 33 SK chairpersons, and 231 SK kagawads.
Members of the public transport particularly drivers had been also subjected to drug testing to ensure safety and security of commuters in Angeles City. Lazatin said the program against illegal drug use highlights his administration’s commitment to preserving public safety. Angeles CIO
