DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Two suspects engaged in selling shabu yielded 150 grams of the Illegal substance with a street value of P350,000 when arrested by the town police in a drug sting in Barangay New San Jose her Thursday, June 30. Police identified the suspects as Rogelio Dela Cruz Jr. y Ventura, 37, of Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales who is in the unified police watchlist; and Faisal Merillo y Jasmin, 30, of Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City
Police said that at about 3:40 a.m., personnel of Dinalupihan MPS and 1st First Mobile Force Company of the Bataan Police Provincial Office, conducted the buy-bust after coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 under control #10004-062022-0749, that resulted in the arrest of the suspects on board a Toyota Corolla sedan bearing plate number USK419.
The arrest came after Staff Sergeant Ronel Bognot who acted as poseur buyer received one medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange of two P1,000 bills with serial numbers KY543159 and FV224088.
During the arrest and bodily search, one Norinco 1911 caliber .45 pistol with serial number BA00693 and magazine inserted loaded with three live ammunitions was confiscated from the possession of Dela Cruz along another 12 pcs of medium transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked money.
The suspects now face charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) and violation of RA10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions).
