CABANATUAN CITY – Police seized P3.4-million worth of metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and collared two suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Arcadia here at about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 5.

Nueva Ecija police director Col. Ferdinand Germino said elements of the drug enforcement unit of the Cabanatuan City Police Station (CCPS) arrested the suspects after an undercover operative successfully purchased one sachet of shabu from them.

The CCPS is being led by Lt. Col. Renato Morales, city police chief.

The suspects were identified as a 47-year-old female from Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija, and a 42-year-old male from Cabanatuan City.

“Further search yielded an additional seven sachets of shabu weighing approximately 350 grams from the possession of the female suspect, while the male suspect was found in possession of a knot-tied plastic bag containing around 100 grams of the illegal substance,” Germino said.

The total confiscated drugs weighed around 500 grams.

Charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), are being prepared against the suspects.

Germino said NEPPO “remains resolute in its unyielding campaign against illegal drugs, ensuring the safety and well-being of communities by preventing the spread of dangerous substances and upholding the rule of law.”

These efforts, he said, were in connection with the directive of Central Luzon police chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo.
