STO. TOMAS, Pampanga – Residents at the central area of this town are expected to benefit from the P2.5-million Rural Health Unit (RHU) which was inaugurated on Wednesday (May 23).
Gov. Lilia Pineda and Mayor Joselito Naguit led the blessing and inauguration of the RHU in Barangay Poblacion.
The funds came from the Priority Development Assistance of Fund of Fourth District Rep. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum. She was represented by her brother, former Congressman Juan Pablo Bondoc.
Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon thanked Pineda and Naguit for the construction of the second RHU in this town with seven barangays. The other is at Barangay San Matias.
Gorgolon disclosed that P1 million worth of equipment will be purchased by the DOH central office for the RHU.
For her part, Pineda said she will provide other equipment needed by the RHU.
“We will wait for the arrival of the equipment purchased by the DOH. Then we will give what they need,” said Pineda in the dialect. She donated a microscope to Naguit.
Others who graced the event were Board Members Nestor Tolentino and Ric Yabut.
