CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 30 kilos of suspected shabu estimated at P204-million were seized and three suspects were arrested in a joint anti-drug operations at a resort in Norzagaray, Bulacan on May 15.
Elements of the Special Enforcement Service of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Office, PDEA-Bulacan Provincial Office, and the Norzagaray and San Jose Del Monte City police stations swooped down on the Payogi Leisure Hub, Old Barrio Road, Barangay Minuyan, Norzagaray resulting to the confiscation of the illegal drugs and arrest of alias Jessie, 44, of Cavite; alias Tina, 36, of Quezon City; and alias Jess, 21, also of Cavite.
One alias Tongo, a suspected Chinese national and considered high-value target was able to escape during the operation, is still being pursued, police said.
Aside from the 30 kilos of suspected shabu, the recovered evidence also included marked money, identification cards, cell phones, and a vehicle.
The successful operation also led police authorities to investigate a possible connection of the arrested suspects to the anti-drug operation last May 13 in Angeles City where P680.4-million worth of shabu was confiscated. The similarities in the transaction style and the way illegal drugs were packaged in the two operations, both conducted over three days and in the same region are noticeable, police said.
“Ang magkakasunod na operasyon na ito ay patunay ng matibay na ugnayan at kooperasyon sa pagitan ng PDEA at PNP. Hindi kami titigil hangga’t hindi tuluyang nabubuwag ang mga sindikatong patuloy na nagpapakalat ng iligal na droga sa ating rehiyon. Paiigtingin pa namin ang kampanya kontra droga sa buong Gitnang Luzon,” said Police Regional Office 3 director BGen. Jean S. Fajardo.
This, as she urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious drug-related activities to the authorities immediately.
The arrested suspects now face charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Follow-up operations are still ongoing to identify and catch others involved in the illegal drug operation in the region. Punto News Team/PRO-3
