ANGELES CITY — A P100,000 cash reward is now being offered to anyone who can provide any information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the brutal killing of a coed in Barangay Sto. Cristo here over the weekend.
Former Capas, Tarlac mayor Reynaldo “Reycat” Catacutan said the money was raised by concerned citizens of his town in order to expedite the solution of the crime.
An emotional Catacutan said the victim, Danielle Louise Conde, 17, was like his daughter already since she was a very close friend of his children. Catacutan said he knew Conde since she was a child because her parents are “my political allies since the very start.”
Catacutan said Conde was a standout being a blackbelt in taekwondo and was an honor student in high school. Before she was killed, she just competed in the Miss Engineering beauty pageant at the Holy Angel University (HAU) here where she was a student.
Meanwhile, Sr. Supt. Jose Hidalgo, city police chief, said they have already obtained a computer generated composite sketch of the lone suspect based on the information from witnesses. He said at least four witnesses, aged 12 to 13, have been interviewed by police. The witnesses were reportedly playing
basketball just a few meters away from the scene of the crime.
“The witnesses said they heard a shout for help apparently coming from the victim, and then they saw a male who had semi-bald hair, wearing blue pants and gray shirt with red stripe fleeing on a mountain bike with orange rim tires,” police said.
Hidalgo said since Monday, he has already formed Special Investigation Task Force Danille composed of members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Police Crime Lab Unit, City Investigation and Detective Unit, and Police Station 6.
