CLARK FREEPORT — The Bureau of Customs–Port of Clark in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized on June 21 some 940 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) with an estimated value of P1,551,000.

The BOC-Clark said a shipment declared as “Baby Walker,” which arrived on June 10 was put on hold after intensive profiling and was immediately subjected to X-ray scanning and K9 sniffing.

Physical examination led to the discovery of jog bags containing dried leaves and fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana. Samples turned over to PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis subsequently confirmed it was indeed high-grade marijuana, classified as dangerous drug under RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), as amended.

A warrant of seizure and detention was issued by BOC-Clark district collector Erastus Sandino B. Austria against the shipment for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 par. f, I, and l (3 and 4) of RA 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act) in relation to RA 9165. Photos: BOC-Clark
