ANGELES CITY – Some P1.05 million worth of marijuana was seized by the local police from four young residents of Baguio City during a buy-bust sting in Barangay Pulung Bulu here at dawn last Saturday.
In a report, the city police identified the suspects as Jayvee Canillo, 21, of Barangay Pandan; Charles Liclican, 26, of Baguio City; Joshua Manzano, 22, of Barangay Mining; and Nicole Meneses, 23, of Baguio City who were arrested during the anti-drug operation by cops from of Police Station 1 and Police Station 3.
Station 1 policemen initially arranged for the sting with Canillo outdoor in the barangay. They were able to purchase marijuana worth P500 from him.
As other policemen moved in for an arrest, Canillo ran into a nearby apartment at House No. 6020B at Pamintuan Square, but the lawmen ran after him and were able to get inside.
The report said the other suspects were in the apartment where they were also found in the possession several rolled bundle of marijuana leaves.
The police estimated that the marijuana leaves could be worth some P1.050 million in street value.
Senior Supt. Enrico Vargas, Angeles City police director, commended his men for the successful operation against Canillo and his companions who were charged in court for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
