(A total of 886 applicants took their shot at the Cityhood Mega Job Fair)
As part of the simultaneous activities conducted by the Local Government Unit of Tarlac City for the weeklong celebration of the 21st Tarlac City Charter Anniversary, the City Manpower Development and Employment Service Office (CMDESO) initiated a Mega Job Fair in SM City Tarlac on April 25, 2019 (Thursday).
According to CMDESO Head Engr. Arnold Samson, it has always been their goal to accommodate at least 800 applicants, but for this year they have exceeded their goal. This year’s job fair is well attended by 886 applicants, 73 of which were hired on the spot, and other numerous applicants were scheduled for final interview.
Meanwhile, in the message of SM City Tarlac Mall Manager Engr. Darrel N. Ramos, it is noted that for SM, it has always been its mission to become an instrument to help the people of Tarlac achieve their dreams by securing jobs, thus being able to provide for their families.
The fair will not be possible without the following partners namely SM Supermalls, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skill Development Authority (TESDA), and Tourism Council with the special participation of Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau Investigation (NBI), Social Security System Office (SSS) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
“We always aim to have such job fairs in Tarlac so as to provide opportunity of employment to our fellow Tarlaquenos”, said Sr. LEO David Estanislao of DOLE. He also encouraged the applicants to join the Talentadong Manggagawa which will have an elimination round in SM City Tarlac on April 27, 2019.
There are 35 local employers who joined in the said mega job fair and 3 agencies to assist for overseas employment.
